Dear St. Joseph School Families,

How would you like to spend the last weeks of summer relaxing and enjoying the outdoors instead of clipping coupons, sitting in traffic burning gasoline, and wandering the store aisles in search of school supplies? Imagine arriving at St. Joe’s on the first day of school to find your child’s school supplies already in his or her classroom. That’s right, no more hauling bulky bags up the stairs and through the crowds. And what if, in addition to saving money and time, you also helped support St. Joseph School? With the purchase of a
St. Joseph School Supply Kit that dream can be a reality!

With the exception of personal items such as backpacks/book bags, paint shirts, and PE shoes, the kits contain all of the items requested by the classroom teachers for the
St. Joseph School Supply List 2008-2009 which is included in the packet sent to all new and returning families. For less than what you would spend shopping for the items yourself, you can purchase a St. Joseph School Supply Kit and have it waiting for you in your child’s classroom on the first day of school, ready to be labeled (as specified by the teacher) and stored away. No more worrying about whether or not you have purchased the right type of binder, folder, markers, etc. The classroom teachers were involved in the design of the kits, so you can be assured you will have the proper supplies.

Because we are able to buy items in volume from distributors at a discounted price (overall savings of 30-50% of retail for most grades), we can offer the kits at a lower price than you would spend if you purchased the same items. Even with the small service fee included in the price of the kit, this savings allows us to provide durable, name brand products (polypropylene covered notebooks and subject dividers instead of paper, for example) at the same price or less than you’d pay shopping yourself. Furthermore,
a percentage of the purchases made through our main supplier, Office Max, will come back to the school in the form of rebates! Last year we received almost $1200 in Max Perks for Teachers rebates which were used to buy a variety of office supplies including toner cartridges and paper. Including the rebate, the 2007-2008 St. Joseph School Supply Kit program netted over $10,387 from the sale of 276 kits! Your purchase of a kit assists St. Joseph School in its mission to provide a high-quality, Catholic education to its students.

To take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, all you need to do is complete the order form and send it back to the school with payment by the due date. Returning families will be able to place an order beginning in April. New families will receive an order form and return envelope in the June mailing. The
St. Joseph School SuppIy List 2008-2009 and St. Joseph School Supply Kit 2008-2009 Order Form are both available on the school’s website for you to download or click on the links above or at the bottom of this page. I must place my order with suppliers by the end of July and typically do not order surplus kits—so don’t wait till the end of the summer to place your order. Please be sure to include your e-mail address on the order form so that I can confirm receipt of your order. No need to send money. For your convenience we will bill your school account the amount due.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or e-mail.

Thank you in advance for your support of St. Joseph School and the School Supply Kit Sale!
