Employment

Thank you for your interest in St. Joseph School. Please read below to learn more about our school, our students, open positions and the application process.

Since 1907, in the heart of Capitol Hill, St. Joseph School has been the only Jesuit, Catholic K-8 school in Seattle. We teach students to be lifelong learners who are inspired to use their gifts to serve others and positively impact the world.

St. Joseph School educates the whole child by providing excellent academics and social and emotional competencies. We seek employees to join a highly motivated, faith-filled, curious, intelligent, and passionate staff of educators who are committed to both the Catholic/Jesuit model of education and continually grow professionally.

Our work focuses on five pillars that demonstrate the profile of a St. Joseph School graduate:

Growing

Our students are curious, and positive, and acknowledge that they don’t have all the answers. They exhibit an inquisitive mind by imagining and questioning. St. Joseph School students embrace the world, including things that are different. They are willing to take healthy risks.

Learning

Our students are learning to think critically. They are developing a grasp of tangibles and intangibles. They express themselves in words and actions. Our students demonstrate creativity through various media and can use technology to support learning, problem solving and communication. Our students are discovering their emerging intellectual skills and are continuously advancing. They take responsibility for their learning.

Reverent

Our students are learning to find God in all things. As a child of God, they have an awareness of God's love for all creation. They have an understanding of Jesus and the teachings of the Catholic Church. They are learning to communicate with God through prayer, and participate in faith as a member of the liturgical community.

Loving

Our students are able to put the interests of the other before their own. They are developing empathy, tolerance, and forgiveness. They are kind and gentle, especially to those more vulnerable. Our students move beyond self-interest. They are learning to share with others.

Just

Our students recognize the inherent dignity of the human person and the connection of all human persons. They acknowledge that every person is loved by God. Our students are becoming concerned and responsible people for others.
