FINANCIAL AID
St. Joseph School
FINANCIAL
AID PROCEDURES
General Information
St.
Joseph School believes that the family has the primary
responsibility for financing a student’s education at a
non-public school. For those families unable to fund the full
cost of tuition, St. Joseph School has a limited amount of
financial assistance available.
St. Joseph School uses the School and Student Service for
Financial Aid (SSS) to determine all families’ financial need
in order to provide a common and objective base for awarding
financial aid. The actual amount of financial aid is
determined by the school based on the information provided by
SSS.
All financial information is considered confidential.
Financial Aid decisions are made by a committee outside the
admissions office. All financial aid is need-based and is
offered without regard to race, color or national or ethnic
origin. A portion of financial aid is available only to St.
Joseph parishioners or families from other Rainbow parishes
of the Seattle Archdiocese. The remaining aid is offered
without regard to religious affiliation. While St. Joseph
School is committed to giving need-based financial
assistance, the school may be unable to meet the needs of all
students who apply and qualify for assistance due to the
limited funds which are available.
In cases of divorced/separated/never married parents, both
natural parents are required to submit all required
paperwork. Custodial parents are expected to inform
non-custodial parents of this requirement. If either parent
is remarried, the application should include the
step-parent’s financial information.
All financial assistance awards are for one school year and
are applied monthly towards tuition. All families must
reapply for financial aid annually.
