PARENT LECTURES SERIES AND CURRICULUM
NIGHTS
Each year
the PAB sponsors a series of lectures for parents on a
variety of topics on education and child development.
This fall, the series opened with a presentation on the math
curriculum for grades K-8. Rick Boyle, Academic
Vice-Principal, discussed the philosophy and implementation
of the mathematics program and how learning is assessed.
We welcomed Dr. John Gottman, PhD, to St. Joseph School
on Wednesday,
February 27.
Dr. Gottman is one of our nation's foremost researchers in
marriage and parenting. He is also renowned for his
informative and highly entertaining talks on these
subjects! www.gottman.com.
The 2006/2007 lectures series highlighted the work of
nationally-renown education specialist Dr. Mel Levine
(www.allkindsofminds.org/) and child and adolescent
development expert Dr. Laura Kastner of the University of
Washington.
