DESTINATION
ImagiNATION
Next year the PAB will sponsor a new program called:
Destination ImagiNation Developed 25 years ago, Destination
ImagiNation is a creative problem solving program for
students. The goals of the program include: fostering the
development of creative and critical thinking; developing
teamwork, collaboration, and leadership abilities; nurturing
research and inquiry skills through creative exploration and
attention to detail; and encouraging a commitment to
real-life problem solving.
Participants of similar age work together on teams 5- 7
members, over an 8-12 week period, and choose to solve one of
several "Team Challenges" in the following areas:
Technical/Mechanical Design; Structural/Architectural Design;
Science; Theatrical/Literary/Fine Arts; and Improvisational
Techniques.
The program culminates in a tournament at which the teams
present their solutions and are also confronted with an
"Instant Challenge" (an impromptu challenge that the team
must solve under tight time constraints, with no prior notice
of the nature of the problem). For more details on the
program, please visit the website at: http://www.idodi.org.
