Volunteering at St. Joseph
Volunteering at St. Joseph

Parents help with all the major events and fundraisers at St. Joseph School. Because of this, we believe that the partnership between family and school is such a wonderful and supportive collaboration that we have a requirement as part of our Development Contract that requires 25 volunteer hours at school per family per academic year.
We have many service opportunities over the course of the academic year with which we need help to ensure their success. Hours may be earned in a variety of ways. Here is a list of just a few of those ways: help in the office and classrooms, chaperone on the ski bus, help with the auction, jog-a-thon, dances, serving on a school/parish committee, Parish/school picnic, CYO sports and scrip selling.
How to volunteer:
1. PREPARE: The Archdiocese of Seattle requires that all volunteers complete the SAFE ENVIRONMENT series of classes. These classes are offered throughout the year at various area parishes and schools. Click here for upcoming class locations and dates. An online update is required each year.2. SEEK: There are a variety of ways to help at St. Joseph’s. Some jobs are for single events, while others take place throughout the school year. There are jobs that can be done during the school day, while others need help on evenings and weekends. Some involve working directly with students, while others are administrative or focused around special events. Some jobs involve planning and managing others, while others involve showing up and getting the work done. Whatever your interests and availability, we have a volunteer job for you!
3. CHOOSE: A comprehensive list of volunteer opportunities at St. Joseph School can be found HERE. A link is provided to email for the contact person for each activity. Also check the PAB Volunteering web page, and the Auction web page, and watch the Flash for announcements of upcoming needs. Volunteer activities performed at St. Joseph Parish also count toward fulfilling your volunteer commitment. Contact Ann Skrobut for assistance in choosing your volunteer opportunities.
4. REPORT: You are responsible for recording and submitting your family’s Volunteer Hours. Fill out the Donated Hours Form online, or print and turn it in to the Development Office. Contact Debra Hofbauer with questions regarding tracking volunteer hours.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!
