John Hickey

Last week's Jog-a-Thon was a blast. Despite less than ideal weather, our students' spirits were high and they did a great job! I'm so happy to see we are so close to our Jog-a-Thon goal of $80,000. If you're among the 80% of our families who have contributed, thank you! If you've not already given, please do that soon. With everyone participating, we'll exceed our goal!

This week, the staff met and began our discussion of the book, Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age. I highly recommend this book to you. It has reminded me that we must continue to focus on face to face interactions. It's integral to the human experience to connect with other humans and if we are not intentional about how we use technology, we'll lose our ability to connect with one another in meaningful ways. Reading this book will help our community work together to ensure that we continue to connect with one another. Let me know if you've picked up a copy; I'd love to discuss this book with anyone who decides to read it.

Have a great weekend!

This small group invites you as a parent to reflect on the multiple roles you play in your life and how these roles intersect with your deepest sense of yourself and your understanding of God. Over the course of seven monthly sessions, you and fellow parents will deepen your sense of yourselves, come to an awareness of the spiritual foundations of your parenting, share experiences in the context of a small community, and develop a set of Ignatian-inspired practices to help ground you in moments of challenge.
